I love the South and all of its tradition. Southern belle's walk with a sophistication and sense of pride and Tuesday's High Tea at Fountainview Mansion was no exception to the rule. Nestled along the winding roads of Auburn, Alabama sits a home full of life and spirit. Decorated with more than 70 trees for Christmas, guests came for an afternoon of tea, fellowship and singing. Nearly a year ago, a relative was married at Fountainview and I was fortunate enough to stay at the mansion for the weekend. When I walked in and met the owner, he bare a striking resemblance to my childhood, church choir director from St. Louis. Gary and I lost touch over the years and I couldn't believe that the man who spent most of the church service trying to keep me quiet during the sermon was now the owner of this wonderful place. Gary and his wife Julie have transformed this home into one of the most magnificent B&B's in all of the South. The home is a photographer's dream...

WOW dude- the lighting inside this place must have been amazing, and the long exposure night shot is my fav. The color and low noise out of your D700 shows how far DSLRs have come in 5 years.
Sweet gig!
What gorgeous photographs! How talented you are!

The window light in the harp image is real nice. Great shot!
I like the harp picture best. Not into R&R.
Chris, you could sell out a print run of calendars here in Australia with the "tea pot" on the front cover. The index finger on top the pot lid is classic...........
Your natural light window sets must get you lots of jobs. They are in the other galleys also & are lit wonderfully. I think my favourites though are in the "editorial" galley. The little girl on the train tracks & the two taken in the red carpeted church are really great stories, even without captions.

I think th women playing the harp is my favorite picture. The lighting is perfect, and her expression just perfectly conveys her passion for her instrument.
I really like the harpist portrait and would echo the previous comments you've had about it. Great lighting and the timing of her hands and expression is excellent.
You have some great shots, hopefully with a new Vivitar 283 I can one day reach your skill level... Maybe not but I'll try.
I'm on flickr at bcohen5055 btw
Really Great lighting and compositions. The colors really pop.
You have a great eye.
I am partial to the photo of the two women at the tea party. Such a nice formal image, but with a bit of mirth. You might add to your contact page what city you work in. I had a hard time finding that on your site.

I particularlyy like the shot of the woman playing the harpsichord. Great natural lighting there and the colors are nice too.

My favorite is the one of the stockings hanging over the fireplace. The colors in it are striking.

Wow, these are awesome! I like the harp!
I like the harp one best, because my mum plays the harp. Lovely!
The photos of the older women and tea are perfect. They work perfectly together and tell a story
you did a good job with lighting the interior...some of it is unbelieveable...great work man!!!
yeah love the harp picture! light is amazing.
i like the fireplace photo best.
it's so warm and cozy, perfect capture of the feeling of a traditional winter Christmas!
I like the house on the hilltop (especially the star pattern on the lights) best...nicely lit interior shots as well.
Like the harp shot, but my fave is actually the little inset of pouring tea. It's simple and mundane, but it's a perfect little slice of life shot to support the two stodgy looking women, and a perfectly planned counterpoint.
I especially like the night shot of the beautiful house. Such a clear picture with no noise. How long was the exposure, and what ISO did you use?
I like the harpist, even with the blown highlights, it conveys a sense of brightness and just looks clean.
my fave is the harpist - expression is priceless
I'm going to go with the house on the hill..simple but very well done..I like it :)
